Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

This policy covers the Koffee app (“the App”) and this website. “We” means the developer of Koffee.

The short version: the App collects nothing. The website counts visits without cookies. If you write to us through the contact form, we get what you send.

1. The App collects no data

The App has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no ads, and no network access. It doesn’t read, record, or send your keystrokes, mouse movements, screen contents, or files.

2. What the App does on your Mac

The App uses standard macOS interfaces, all on your computer:

  • It asks macOS not to put the Mac or the display to sleep while the switch is on.
  • It reads how long it has been since your last keyboard or pointer input, to decide when to dim. It reads only the elapsed time, not what you typed or where you clicked.
  • It checks whether another app is asking macOS to keep the display on, so it can hold off dimming during video or calls. Only the app’s name is used, and it’s shown in the status line.
  • It changes display brightness settings and restores them.
  • It reads the system sleep timers to show when the Mac would sleep while the App is off.

Nothing leaves your Mac.

3. Settings

Your preferences are stored in the App’s own preferences on your Mac, inside the App Sandbox. Deleting the App removes them.

4. Third parties

The App includes no third-party SDKs or services. If you get the App from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect information under its own privacy policy, which we don’t control.

5. This website

The website keeps its own visit statistics. No outside analytics service is involved.

  • No cookies, no local storage, and no fingerprinting. See the Cookie Policy.
  • For each page view we record the page, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, the browser and operating system family, the screen width as a rough range, the language, and the country and city estimated from the IP address.
  • The IP address is used in memory for that estimate and for rate limiting. It is never written to disk or to logs.
  • To count visitors we compute a hash that changes every day and can’t be linked from one day to the next.
  • Raw records are deleted after 180 days. After that only daily totals remain.

6. Messages you send us

The website has a contact form instead of a published email address. When you send a message, we receive the email address you enter, your name and WhatsApp number if you give them, the topic you picked, and your message. With the message, our server records the page you sent it from, the country and city estimated from your IP address, and your browser and operating system family. The IP address itself is not stored.

We use this only to answer you. We keep a message as long as that takes and delete it when you ask. To find out what we hold about you or to have it deleted, send a request through the contact form and pick “Privacy request”.

The form asks you to type digits from a picture to keep spam out. That check runs on our server and stores nothing in your browser.

7. Children

Neither the App nor the website is aimed at children, and the App collects no data from anyone.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when the App or the website changes. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
